ZRA is excited to collaborate with the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) for the 18th consecutive year to provide information about ICRM certification and its relevance, value and benefits to those Records and Information Management (RIM) professionals working in the Zoological Registrar profession. Please join us for the ZRA- hosted ICRM Certified Records Analyst (CRA) Workshop. ZRA will cover MEMBER attendance for the workshop as part of the FULL conference registration.
Time: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (EST)

Join us for an engaging experience at the National Aviary, where attendees will explore immersive habitats and learn more about avian conservation, animal care programs, and species management initiatives.
Attendees will have the opportunity to visit the International Conservation Center, a unique facility dedicated to advancing conservation education and supporting global efforts in elephant care and management. We will take a guided wagon tour to see where elephants, camels, and bison roam.The experience starts at the Lodge where we can learn more about the animal residents. From the Lodge, we will board one of the wagons and enjoy a guided tour. The open-air wagon ride lasts 30 minutes.
Start the day with an interactive Applied Skills Workshop and presentations focused on practical tools, real-world problem solving, and skills registrars can immediately apply in their institutions. Next choose from software-focused sessions designed to help users maximize efficiency, improve workflows, and better utilize recordkeeping systems. Later in the day attend Registrar 101, perfect for those new to the profession or seeking a refresher. This introductory course covers the fundamentals of registrar responsibilities, terminology, and daily practices. At the end of the night, attend the Icebreaker reconnect with colleagues and meet new attendees in a fun, welcoming environment. Our opening social event is the perfect way to kick off the conference. Following this session, collaborate with peers and help shape the future of the association through ZRA committee meetings focused on current projects, initiatives, and member engagement.
Join all conference attendees for engaging general sessions featuring association updates, industry trends, professional development topics, and discussions relevant to today’s registrar community. These sessions are designed to inspire ideas, encourage collaboration, and keep members informed. Hear from invited government representatives and regulatory professionals who will share valuable updates, policy insights, and information impacting zoological institutions, permits, compliance, transport, and recordkeeping. This is a great opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge and ask questions. Join us for the Flamingle, a fun and welcoming event designed to meet fellow participants, connect with association leaders. Browse and bid on a variety of exciting items during our Silent Auction. Proceeds support association programs and future initiatives, making this a great opportunity to contribute while taking home something special. Today will feature presentations, panel discussions, and member-led sessions focused on topics relevant to zoo and aquarium registrars.

Take part in an optional evening outing to one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic landmarks, the Duquesne Incline. Ride the historic incline to the top of Mount Washington and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline, rivers, and bridges.
We close things out with Z-CAP, an engaging session focused on collaboration, discussion, and advancing ideas that support the registrar profession and association goals. This program offers attendees an opportunity to share perspectives, contribute ideas, and help shape future initiatives. This session is open to ALL members. Join fellow members for the annual Business Meeting, where association leadership will provide important updates, review accomplishments, discuss upcoming priorities, and conduct official association business. Members are encouraged to attend and stay informed on the future direction of the organization. In the afternoon, we will spend time at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium. After visiting the zoo, it’s time to sit back and reflect on the amazing week you just had while we share our last night together at dinner. Afterwards, tour thousands of artistically hand-carved pumpkins that glow in the night during the walk-through Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza.
Join us for a guided city tour with Molly's Trolleys Pittsburgh, a classic and comfortable way to explore the history, culture, and landmarks of the city. Attendees will enjoy a narrated tour highlighting Pittsburgh’s unique neighborhoods, riverfront views, architectural landmarks, and key points of interest.
Attendees will enjoy a visit to the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, a world-renowned public garden known for its stunning plant collections, immersive exhibits, and strong commitment to sustainability and environmental education.
The Strip, as it's called, is foodie heaven and as authentic as it is fun. Locals love it for its low, low prices and tremendous selections. The one-half square mile shopping district is chock full of ethnic grocers, produce stands, meat and fish markets and sidewalk vendors. Breathe deep because you won't want to escape the splendid aromas of fresh-roasted coffee or just-baked bread.
