Quick Tips
- Pittsburgh’s airport is located outside the city, so travel time can vary with traffic.
- If arriving late at night, rideshare or taxi is recommended for convenience.
October in Pittsburgh is classic fall:
- Temperatures: Typically range from the mid-40s to mid-60s °F
- Mornings & Evenings: Cool to chilly—bring a jacket
- Afternoons: Often mild and comfortable
- Rain: Occasional showers, so a compact umbrella is a smart addition
Fall foliage is usually near peak, so expect beautiful views along the rivers and hillsides. That said, weather can shift quickly—layering is your best strategy.
Football Season: A Big Deal in Pittsburgh
Football is part of the city’s identity, especially when it comes to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- Game Days: Typically Sundays (with occasional Monday/Thursday games)
- Location: Acrisure Stadium, just across the river from downtown
- Game Day Atmosphere: Expect heavy traffic, crowded restaurants, and lots of fans in black and gold
Even if you’re not attending a game, you’ll feel the energy throughout the city—especially in areas like Station Square and downtown.
Planning Tips for Conference Attendees
- Allow extra travel time on game days—traffic and rideshare demand increase significantly
- Make dinner reservations early if you’re going out on a football weekend
- Pack layers—you may start your day in a jacket and end it in short sleeves
- Check the schedule if you want to catch a game or avoid the crowds
Get ready… because we’re already looking ahead.
After an incredible week in Pittsburgh, the momentum doesn’t stop. The 2027 ZRA Annual Conference is already in the works—and if this year is any indication, you won’t want to miss what’s next.
New city.
New experiences.
New opportunities to connect, learn, and grow alongside the registrar community.
Where will we be heading next? You’ll have to stay tuned—but expect the same high-quality programming, meaningful networking, and behind-the-scenes access that make the ZRA conference a must-attend event each year.
Start planning now—because the best is yet to come.
