Notice of new business to be presented at the 2015 ZRA Annual Business Meeting
September 04, 2015 Dear ZRA Members,This communication serves as the official thirty (30) day prior written Notice of new business to be presented at the 2015 ZRA Annual Business Meeting on Saturday, 3 October 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sign-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Please plan to arrive at 8:00 a.m. so that the meeting can begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Three new Bylaws amendments have been submitted. These, along with the three amendments held-over from 2014, will be presented for debate and voting. These documents in their entirety, which includes the justification or reason for the amendment, are posted on the website under Governance, Documents for Annual Business Meeting. You must first be logged in as a member to view these documents. The Bylaws Committee strongly suggests the membership view these online documents prior to the Annual Business Meeting.
Please be advised there will also be a package of Bylaws conforming changes that will be implemented if certain amendments are adopted by the membership. These conforming changes are also posted on the website for review.

The following bylaws amendments have been submitted by the ZRA membership and will be presented for debate and voting:
Article IV, Section 2 (Membership Categories), #C on Page 2
Proposed amendment:
To amend Article IV, Section 2, #C by striking out “the last” and inserting “any”.
Current wording:
Retired. Membership is open to retired Professional category members who served ZRA as Professional category members for the five consecutive years prior to retirement.
Proposed wording:
Retired. Membership is open to retired Professional category members who have served ZRA as Professional category members for any five consecutive year period.
Article IV, Section 2 (Membership Categories), #C on Page 2
Proposed amendment:
To amend Article IV, Section 2, #C by striking out “but may not serve as chairman of a committee” and inserting “and may serve in a leadership role in a committee.”
Current wording:
Retired. Membership is open to retired Professional category members who served ZRA as Professional category members for the five consecutive years prior to retirement. Retired members may serve on committees but may not serve as chairman of a committee.

Registrar Emeritus. The designation of Registrar Emeritus denotes a position of honor obtained after retiring. Candidates may be proposed by any Professional category member to the Membership Services Committee for verification of qualifications. The Membership Services Committee shall present the names of the candidates to the Professional category members for a vote. The vote shall be done by mail and the ballots shall be distributed and returned to the Membership Services Committee. A candidate who receives a two-thirds (2/3) vote, with at least one-third (1/3) of
Professional category members casting votes, shall become Registrar Emeritus. Once voted in, the member remains a Registrar Emeritus for life and pays no dues. Registrar Emeritus members may serve on committees but may not serve as chairman of a committee.

To amend Article XII by inserting “, which vote shall take place” after the word “membership” at the end of the first line, and inserting “and shall include absentee votes” at the end of the first sentence.
Current wording:
These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the membership at the annual business meeting. Any proposed amendments shall be submitted to the Chairman of the Bylaws Committee in writing sixty (60) days prior to the annual business meeting. Notice of final proposed amendments to the bylaws shall be sent to all Professional category members electronically or by US Postal service thirty (30) days prior to the annual business meeting.
Proposed wording:
These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the membership, which vote shall take place at the annual business meeting and shall include absentee votes.
