ZRA is excited to welcome all 2016 ZRA Annual Conference attendees to a special post-conference trip to Downtown Puebla and Cholula on Sunday, 23 October 2016!
This is an all-day event at the great price of $40 per person which includes transportation, lunch and admission to all the places visited. You will also have free time to shop for Mexican hand crafts. Please join us for this great experience!
Trip Schedule:
10:00 a.m. Departure from hotel to Cholula City (bus)
10:30 a.m. Cholula´s Arqueological site.
12:05-12:40 p.m. Tonantzintla church. The great value of this church is that it´s the only temple where the Franciscans, who evangelized the old Mexico, allowed the indigenous to reflect their religious beliefs and their art.
12:50-1:30 p.m. San Francisco Acatepec church -on the facade of the Church the historian, Manuel Toussaint said: "The magnificence of the facade is such that looks like a porcelain temple worthy to be kept under a glass capelo."
1:30-2:15 p.m. Bus from Cholula to Puebla City
2:15 p.m. Lunch “Entre Tierras Restaurant” Puebla
4:15 p.m. Palafoxiana library (first library in America)
5:00-5:40 p.m. Puebla Cathedral
5:40-6:10p.m. Puebla main square “Zocalo”
6:20-6:50 p.m. Capilla del Rosario. Work of the XVII century, summit of the Baroque of the New Spain. It was described at the time as La Casa de Oro (the golden house), as well as the eighth wonder of the world by Friar Diego de Gorozpe, in text from 1960.
7:00- 8:00 p.m. Crafts market “Parian” -Shopping time
8:20 p.m. Return to Hotel
