This 3-hour, in-person workshop will be held during the ZAA Annual Conference at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, Montgomery Hotel & Conference Center, Montgomery, AL on November 17, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm. The cost of the workshop is $55. The ZRA Training Certificate Program (TCP) was created by ZRA members experienced in the profession with input from external advisors. The program offers learners a thorough understanding of the specialized knowledge needed by zoological registrars and animal records professionals. Topics covered include animal shipping, permits, biofact management, and more. Module 1 is focused on the importance of animal records, the history of animal records in zoos and aquariums, and current best practices. This module is appropriate for anyone involved in animal records – which is just about everyone who works with animals!
While all TCP modules are available online (www.zooregistrars.org/training), ZAA Conference attendees have the rare opportunity to take Module 1 in person, taught by experienced zoological registrars. Those who complete the workshop and online exam will receive a Certificate of Completion and will be able to download all of the accompanying resources for future reference. This is an excellent professional development opportunity for anyone who is involved with or interested in animal records
