Learners have 1 year to complete each individual module, or for the entire program.

Modules can also be purchased inidividually at $60 per module. ZRA members enjoy a $20 discount off each module purchased individually ($40 per module, total).
If you wish to purchase the training courses at the non-member rate, please create a non-member account by selecting join in the top right corner and choosing “No Membership-Event Registration Only”. TCP and ICRM
Two Different Educational Opportunities
The ZRA Professional Development Committee manages the Training Certificate Program as well as association mentorship for records management certifications held by the Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM). Both of these professional development opportunities help you acquire knowledge and skills as you develop your career path in the zoological registrar profession. Here, we will compare and contrast the two educational options so members fully understand what each entails. These options are not mutually exclusive - members can achieve both the TCP certificate and ICRM credentials!
ZRA Training Certificate Program
ZRA is a professional organization with the primary mission of advancing the zoological registrar profession - but it is not a certifying body. The ZRA Training Certificate Program emphasizes best practices in all key duties associated with the zoological registrar position, and provides information that can help meet AZA accreditation requirements and other standards that have an impact on key areas managed by this role.
- ZRA members or non-members can take any of the modules with no pre-requisites.
- ZRA issues a certificate of completion once you successfully pass the exams associated with the modules in the Training Certificate Program.
- Once you pass the exams, and receive your certificate of completion, there are no further requirements.
- You do not earn a credential which you may use behind your name; you can however, list the certificate of completion in your resume.
ICRM Certification
The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) is an international certifying organization of and for professional records managers. For anyone pursuing ICRM certification, either the Certified Records Analyst (CRA) or Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation will help you obtain and maintain relevant skills and apply global best practices in the core competencies of records management to zoological records collections.
- You will be required to meet the qualification standards for education and professional experience prior to the ICRM approving you to sit for its exams.
- Once certified, you will have to meet the continuing education requirements in order to maintain your certification.
- Once certified, you would use the acronym for the related credential behind your name as evidence of your certification (i.e. CRA or CRM).
- Go to https://www.icrm.org/applying-for-the-exam to learn more.
A huge thank you to all our TCP Contributors!
