The Nominations & Elections Committee is responsible for finding members who are willing to run for a position on the Board of Directors - and also sometimes convincing good candidates that they really can make a difference for their Association!  NEC members make sure all the nominees are eligible according to the Bylaws, and then they gather the information and paperwork needed to run for office.  NEC runs the actual elections as well, which are held on the website.

During the Annual Business meeting, NEC members check people in to ensure all attendees are ZRA members and that the meeting has a quorum.  If there is an in-person vote at the business meeting, NEC members tabulate the votes and deliver the results.

Any time there is a special meeting, NEC members set up the meeting, set up the voting process (if needed), make sure it is running smoothly, and present the results of any voting.  In short, the Nominations & Elections Committee keeps the leadership positions filled and ensures that the membership always has a say in the big decisions of the Association.

NEC doesn't have any big projects right now, but they are planning to develop processes to discuss and vote on ZRA business matters via our new website.  Currently, we use other platforms, such as HootBoard and Zoho Surveys, to do this business - the dream is to have everything happening in one place.  That feature didn't make it to the first round of website updates, but NEC is planning to be a big part of the second round!  That project will hopefully begin in 2026.
